Cable Service in My Area
Whenever I have the time, I catch up on my favorite shows on cable TV talk shows, sitcoms, reality shows, variety shows and so on. So far, the cable service in my area is doing well. Signal is clear and there are a lot of channels to choose from. However, what hurts me most is the price hike I experience each year for my cable TV subscription and I know other subscribers feel the same way. Just imagine paying more for gasoline, grocery items, utility bills, credit cards bills, and cable TV bills.
Even if we decide to save money by staying home, we will still incur expenses whether we like it or not. Cable companies charge an average increase of 5% in our cable TV usage every year. They charge us for whatever new technology they include in their services like free Internet and HDTV.
It was even reported that TV networks do not get a lot of money anymore from advertising since the recession hit world economy. The evolution and popularity of video sharing sites and Web-based TV were said to have caused waning among us cable TV fans because we can just view and download our most-watched shows online.
As technological advancements rise in number, the future of cable TV becomes uncertain. As far as the cable service in my area is concerned, its owners justify their increases by means of value-added services and constant improvement of their customer service. Surprisingly, there are still people who think that cable TV is the more hassle-free option. I have heard some who would rather spend their after-work moments sitting comfortably on the couch and clicking on the remote than deal with web-based TV as if they never turned off their PCs and left their desks. This explains why cable TV has never left the market, and more discounts are currently being implemented for subscriptions to be easier on our pockets.
